Hello everyone! My name is Gene Dickens and for the last forty years I have been involved in the restaurant industry. During this time, I worked with and came to know Lamar Dixon, owner/operator, of Mister Jim’s in Great Bridge.
I had recently settled into restless retirement, missing the restaurant life. Having followed the growth and development of the Great Bridge Mister Jim’s for many years I approached Lamar about the possibility of opening a Mister Jim’s. During our conversations it quickly became clear that there was a desire for a Mister Jim’s in the Moyock area.
After finding available space inside the Border Station and working out lease details, I went to work. The issues I encountered would make a long story in and of themselves. We persevered and on Tuesday, May 9th we began our soft opening.
You loyal Mister Jim’s customers will immediately notice some variations in our menu. Some of these differences are due to the existing kitchen design which will take some time to properly upgrade. In addition, we will be offering items unique to Moyock.
One thing that will remain true is this: The Mister Jim’s standard and approach to serving our customers will not change. As the owner/operator of the Border Station Mister Jim’s, I am always willing to hear your comments and suggestions. I am almost always here, just ask for me
